Apple Cider Vinegar has a wide variety of health benefits including weight loss, reduced cholesterol, lower blood sugar levels and improved symptoms of diabetes.

I started using Fire Cider a few years ago when my client gave it to me a part of a Christmas gift.
Fire Cider is a small, family-owned company in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, and we make Fire Cider!

To craft our tonics, we start with a base of raw, unfiltered certified organic apple cider vinegar, which has long been used by everyone from grandmothers to farmers to extract the beneficial properties of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices. To this, we add whole, raw, organic ginger, horseradish, onions, black pepper, and garlic. Then we toss in organic habañero peppers for heat, turmeric for a bit of zing, and lemons and oranges for a citrus-y tang.

We let the mixture steep at room temperature—no heat involved—which preserves the living vinegar culture and allows the flavors to develop. As a final step, we blend in a generous amount of raw, organic wildflower honey to create our Original blend, or a dark and complex, nutrient-rich honey from Zambia to create our African Bronze blend. The result is a tonic that’s potent but balanced, with distinctive layers of sweet, tart, and spicy flavors! Our Honey-Free Fire Cider is the same base of ingredients but without the honey blended in  - the bold and savory favorite among folks who are vegan or avoiding sugars!
While originally designed to take as a daily tonic (with some extra shots when we start to feel under the weather), Fire Cider is also super versatile in the kitchen, and can be used wherever you use vinegar! From salad dressings and marinades, to your favorite cocktail or green smoothie, you can add a healthy and invigorating burst of flavor just about anywhere!

I personally like to add a shot of Fire Cider to my water and drink it everyday, and have also used the vinegar to make salad dressings. I’m partial to the Original Fire Cider (with honey), but the Honey-Free is a great vegan option. Unlike other Cider Vinegars, I love that Fire Cider has turmeric, known for its Anti-inflammatory properties and ginger which aids in digestion!

When I asked Fire Cider how they recommend people use their product, here is what they said; “We’re fans of the straight shot, too – and if anyone is concerned about acidity, diluting or following the shot with a drink of water doesn’t hurt”.

“Because we are categorized as a food (and not a supplement) we can’t make any health claims, but we’ve heard from folks that they’ve felt a difference after a week or two. A tablespoon is a serving, but around here most of us go for a 1 oz shot per day”.
